Sofie Birch's Bivabippabualukka is a deeply personal collaboration with her brother Alfred, shaped by years of creative experimentation and personal transformation. Drawing on themes of healing, playfulness and intuition, the album channels the freedom and curiosity of childhood while embracing mystery, mythology and the unknown.
Blending elements of ambient music with touches of bossa nova and other comforting sounds, Birch creates a colourful and imaginative world populated by secret caves, fortune-telling, magical symbols and dreamlike imagery. Featuring contributions from a range of collaborators, the album gradually revealed itself through a process of revising, rearranging and reworking material until its connections became clear.
