1998年にレスターシャーの田舎で結成のバンド
初期などは、もう少しガレージっぽかったり、
ハワイアンっぽいものも多かったり。
リリースしてきたアルバムの数は多い。
Vo が結構個性的なので、
好みが分かれると思われる。
もっと早くこの路線に切り替えて
違う声なら、もっと人気が上がっていたかも。
Tattersall の弾くギターは、
かなり良い感じ。
誰かとギターのテイストが似ているなぁと、
思い出せなかったが、わかった
J Mascis だわ。

Let’s give it up then for The Wave Pictures. Pushing against the tide, they’ve spent almost thirty years operating in a relatively undersold career arc despite being prolific enough to release more than twenty albums and a host of EPs since forming in rural Leicestershire in 1998.
For those of us not immersed in their cultdom, The Wave Pictures are a trio which consists of Franic Rozycki (bass) and Jonny Helm (drums), completed by the mercurial talent that is guitarist/singer David Tattersal.
As you might expect for a group with such longevity, they’ve had time to make fans of, amongst others, Nick Lowe and Marc Riley (the latter hailing Tattersal as the guitarist of his generation) whilst also collaborating with the likes of Billy Childish and The Mountain Goats.
Recorded in just seven days, Gained / Lost is an attempt to capture a raw and unfiltered version of their indie, trad and garage rock sound, an approach that eschews the idea of studio trickery, leaving the songs to stand up for themselves.

わずか 7 日間で録音されたGained / Lost は、彼らのインディー、トラッド、ガレージ ロックのサウンドをありのままに再現する試みであり、スタジオでのトリックを避け、曲そのものに存在感を持たせるアプローチです。 "
