Manchester post-rock outfit PIJN garnered significant attention off the back of their impressive debut album Loss in 2018, and rightly so. Since then they have encountered numerous obstacles in their path including numerous line-up changes and their studio flooding! At long last the eagerly anticipated follow-up entitled From Low Beams Of Hope draws near, due to be released on June 28th via Floodlit Recordings. Will they pick up where they left off?
Our Endless Hours takes little time to immerse you in its multi-faceted soundscape. A host of instruments duck and weave in amongst the intricately balanced layering. Whilst particularly solemn in tone it evokes considerable emotion throughout its phrasing. As it gains momentum the energy levels spike, greeting you with an explosion of sound. Carved Expanse feels equally forlorn, utilising melancholic yet soothing string-work as a focal element of its tapestry. A distinct vibrancy offers up periods of alluring escapism intertwined with impactful drum sequences and dynamic riffing.
