A lot has changed since legendary New York-based post-punks Les Savy Fav put out their last record, Root for Ruin, in 2010. As hugely respected as the quintet always were, they always felt slightly ahead of their time, only briefly getting their flowers on 2007's exceptional Let's Stay Friends. In the interim, however, bands such as Protomartyr have elevated post-punk to new levels of success and respect.
Shortly after a hugely successful couple of reunion shows over the past year, however, Les Savy Fav fully reannounced themselves to retake their crown with Oui, LSF, their sixth full-length. Returning to us at a time when post-punk is at an all-time peak in popularity, album opener Guzzle Blood explodes onto the scene with the same immediacy we've come to expect from the band.
