It came in the inspiration of the country of Bhutan, a country in the Himalayas that many people know for its innovation of attempiting to measure gross national happiness.

Globally, a standard for measuring success and productivity is gross national product. Bhutan has the bright idea of trying to  measure happiness  Measuring happiness is a fairly complicated business.

 

First of all, we need to understand what happiness means.

It means the satisfaction with the way one’s life is going. It’s not primarily a measure of how one laughed or smiled yesterday, but how one feels about the course of one’s life.
