Lady Chatterley’s Lover

Oliver:
Lady Chatterley.  Does Sir Clifford need help?

Lady:
No. He sent me. Sorry, I don’t mean to intrude.

O:
No.  Do you want to come in?  Sorry. I’m not dressed for company.

L:
No. Not to worry. I just wanted, um… Sir Clifford wanted to know if new pheasants had begun laying.

O:
Oh, aye. Yes, milady. Yeah. There’ll be plenty of young chicks in a matter of weeks.

L:
This is a lovely little cottage. Do you live alone here?

O:

Quite alone, milady.

L:

You read James Joyce?

O:
That one was hard to find.

L:

Do you read much?

O:

Well, it suits my solitary nature.

L:

Still. Must be awfully quiet around here.

O:

No, I’ve got Flossie for company.

L:

Mm-hmm.  Um…Well, um, I’ll let Clifford know about the pheasants.  Um, thank you.

O:

I’ll se you out then.

L:

All right.

O:

Apologies

L:

[Chuckles]  Lovely flowers.

O:

Take some back with you.

L:

No. I couldn’t.

O:

Why not?

[Connie chuckles]

O:

They’re yours.

L:

You're sure?

O:

Yeah, help yourself.  Good day, then.
