When bodies start to be found in Death River it does more than throw a community into a state of fear. It splits the community in half. People are always quick to point the finger of blame at others especially if those others happen to be different to what they regard as normal.
The hippies living up on the hill above Little Valley have never quite fitted the profile of what the conservative country people expect of their neighbors. Their work ethic is lacking and their dress and lifestyle simply don’t conform to what the villagers consider acceptable. They are willing to overlook these differences but only until things get tough.
As the FBI begin to dig into the town’s history a story of pain and small town resentments bubbles to the surface. Murder is never pleasant but it is a whole lot better if you can cast the blame away from your own people.
