Dating App catches hearts of worldwide

What do you think about dating apps

Tools for boys/girls hunting?

Or at least not for those who seek serious partnership?

If you think of the apps in that way, you might have already missed a trend to our future

Recently TIME magazine issued a special edition “2021 TIME 100 Most Influential Companies”. From gigantic companies to latest innovative ones, TIME chose 100 companies, which shape our future. From Japan, Nintendo, Sony and Softbank are on the list.

Among them, BUMBLE, a dating app company in the US, is selected as one of Pioneers companies. TIME describes the feature of the company as “Designing a smarter, safer dating App”.

Many couples in the world today are meeting online.

In the U.S., the most common way couples meet is online, at 39%. This is followed by bars and restaurants at 27% and friends referrals at 20%. In the U.K., the data also shows that 29% of people meet online, while 24% meet in real life. This is quite different from Japan. Meeting online is still less than 10%, which is bigger than matchmaking party 7.7% or club activities 7.7% but much smaller rates than meeting in workplace 24.1%.

How to find a partner, however, varies depending on the ages.

Arranged marriage “Omai” was mainstream (50%) of man and woman to meet at 1960’s in Japan but now it only accounts for around 5% of all meetings.

The day, dating apps will be mainstream way to meet men and women in Japan, wouldn’t be so long.
