Osaka Naomi
Last Sunday, Naomi Osaka, professional female tennis player, got her first big title of BNP Paribas Open after winning over fierce games with world top rankers. It was very first time for history of Japanese tennis, so the news reported her victory with a real sensation. At first glance, Naomi’s appearance is not like a stereotype Japanese girl. Her external features, like, tall muscular body, brownish skin color and frizzled hair are inherited from her Haitian father. On the other hand, her humble attitude and respect to opponents, which are praised from her early career, are influence of Japanese culture and manners from her mother. I think it is very wonderful to have athlete like Naomi. Diversity makes our society strong.
