昨日
夜、近所を歩いていたら、塀の上を黒っぽい猫！？がゆっくりと歩いていました。
でも、その歩き方は獣っぽく、虎っぽく。
尻尾は長く、シルエットがどうも猫っぽくないし、不気味な感じ。
まさか、、、、顔には白い筋が。 逃げる気配もなく、じっと見つめられ・・・
帰ってすぐにググりました。
ハクビシン！！
ついに東京にもハクビシンが現れた！！こんな近くで見たのは初めてです。
いや、もちろん、ハクビシン自体見たのは初めて。
塀の上を歩いて、どこかの家に入っていきましたが、驚きました・・・

ものごとの細部を捉える視点を「虫の目」と言う。実際の虫の目をまじまじと見たのは小学生の頃だったか。
"Mushino-me" which translates literally as "bug's eye" which denotes a perspective that focuses on minute details. I think I was in a elementary school when I looked closely at bug's eye.

They were in close-up photos of various insects on the covers of school notebooks known collectively as "Japonica gakushucho".
虫の大写しが苦手な子もいるとして、８年前に姿を消し、植物写真で表紙を飾ってきた。
Those covers were discontinued 8 years ago after some childeren complained they could not stomach looking at them. The bugs were replaced with photos of plants.
それが最近になって復活したとの記事がおとといの夕刊にあった。
But according to the Sep.3 issu of the Asashi Shinbun evening edition, insect pictures were recently resurrected on the covers of a new series of notebooks.
新シリーズのカミキリムシの顔は、なかなか精悍（せいかん）である
I saw one with long horned beetle with a face I'd describe as tough and fearness.

I sometimes sense a universe in the world of bugs.
雑草を引き抜いたら、図らずもアリたちのすみかを破壊してしまったとき。
I pulled a weed and inadvertently destroy the habitat of a colony of ants.
野菜の花や茎に暮らす小さな小さな虫たちを見るとき。
Another when discovering minuscule insects living on the flower and stems of vegetables.
自分の中にある遠近感が揺さぶられる気がする。
That's when my inner sense of perspective gets a jolt.
