1971年から唄い続けられている定番ソング。
日本語タイトル『ハッピークリスマス（戦争は終わった）』で、ここでの戦争は太平洋戦争じゃありません。（笑、
ご存知ですよね、そうですベトナム戦争です。
反戦ソングが、ブームの如く流行った頃だったそうです。私自身この曲がリリースされた頃は、まだ６歳だったので小学校６年生の頃に、ベイシティーローラーズ、ビリージョエル、オリビアニュートンジョン、アバなどの流行りと共に洋楽にハマり、この曲を聴きました。
陳腐化しない、シンプルな曲なので、いつ聞いても歴史を感じさせない。
