皆さん、ご存知のイーグルスを代表する曲ですが、この歌が流行っていた1977年は、日本人がイーグルスを知る切欠となった年でした。
2月に『New Kid In Town』と言う曲で1位を獲得し、その3か月後に、この曲『ホテルカルフォルニア』で再び全米１位を獲得した。
中学1年生の頃、ラジオで耳にすることが多く始まりのギターとエンディングのエレキギターのメロディーが、アコースティックばかり弾いていた私が、エレキギターに興味を持った曲になりました。
先ほども書きましたが、この曲は、イーグルスの代表曲として認めますが、私は『Desperado』が好きです（笑
偉そうに言っていますが、『Desperado』を唄っているのがイーグルスってこと、８，９年前に知ったのです。（お恥ずかしい・・・）
