We saw a real panda at Shanghai zoo two weeks ago
Will update more when I am in the mood. Shun is still recovering from his runny nose + its has been raining almost everyday for the past week + my house is in a mess + son is not gaining weight despite drowning him in full cream fresh milk and stuffing him with food.....argh..

Shanghai was touted as one of the best places in the world to see the rare solar eclipse on July 22. It was a once in 500 years phenomenon and we were all looking forward to experience it.
Alas, heavy clouds and rain ruined our plans on Wednesday morning. It was already difficult to track the sun in Shanghai`s weather but rain made it worse.
I could only marvel at the images from the live tv telecast in other parts of China.
At around 930am, I noticed the city getting darker. It was quite a perplexing sight to see a city, which under usual circumstances would be in daylight, suddenly become night. I was experiencing an eclipse! Six minutes in total. What an amazing experience.

でも、9時半ぐらいに、暗闇がひろがって、あっと言う間に夜中のような暗さに
皆既日食の雰囲気を雨降る中、味わいできた
6分後、どんどん空は明るくなり、いつも通りの空に戻ったの感じ
太陽は見られなかったけど、それでも十分感動した

July is the hottest month in Shanghai with temperatures ranging to 39 degrees on some days.
I seldom bring Shun outdoors even in the mornings because of the intense heat.

夏の暑さ、ピークは7月だそう
朝８時ぐらいからすでに30℃超えちゃってる
10時ぐらい38度
もう公園とか外遊びには出れない.。無理
そうは言っても夏はやはり水遊び
先週末パパとマンションのプールに入った
浮き輪に乗った俊を連れまわしたり、水を運んだり、楽しそうだった
夏が終わる前に毎週入れてあげたいと思ってる
Mosquitoes are becoming a nuisance!
We have to sleep in the net every night to avoid being their supper. Can`t go to the sand pit or playground without applying the anti spray. On some nights we even have to lit the incense to fend them off. Plug-in mosquito-repellant doesn`t work. Don`t bother.
These tiny blood suckers are very active in Summer as the weather and humidity rises.
No matter how hard I try to avoid them, they can still find a chance to bite me at least once a day. Each kill is a short-lived victory, as another appears soon after, often buzzing in your ear the moment you’ve comfortably tucked yourself into bed.
I don`t mind their bites if they leave Shun alone. Poor boy cant stop scratching himself when he has those bites which turn real awful. He will point at those mosquito bites and tell me its itchy and start scratching. Those itches are killing me too though the afterbite plaster does help to relieve.
Its a daily battle and I definitely hope it will end soon.
蒸し暑い日が続いてます
こんな気候、蚊は大好き
やつはは毎日、家に来るの！
というわけで、蚊取り線香はもちろん、蚊取りマットや液体蚊取りなど。 夜は俊と網の中に寝ます。
それなのに、私一日最低一回ぐらい刺されてる
俊が刺されたら「痒いよ」と訴えるようになった。上海の蚊は毒性が強いらしいので、いつまでも痒い～！！
自分が喰われまくりでも、息子が守れてるからまぁいっかぁ
毎日の戦いは予防とかゆみ対策を準備しておかないと勝てない。痒いよ！
