わしの好きな俳優に、数年前に入ったのが、タイトルにもなってる『ジェラルド･バトラー』。
彼は法律を勉強し、弁護士として働いていたが、同僚の後押しもあって、俳優になる夢を追いかけて弁護士を辞め、今の地位を得たという背景があるらしい。
正直、昔から好きな人からしたら、ただのにわかファンだと思う。
でも、彼の渋いルックス、声、インタビューなどで見たり読んだりすることから見え隠れする優しさ、ユーモアもあって好きになった。
彼のような渋い大人になりたい、と思うけど、きっと無理なんだろうなぁ。
彼の映画は、まだ数本しか見ていない。
しかも、彼の代表作である、『オペラ座の怪人』や『300』も、まだ見ていない。
だから、にわかファンだということは認めるけど、それでも好きな俳優さん。
それまでは、『フレンズ』の『マシュー･ペリー』、ご存知『ロバート・デ・ニーロ』、今では『30ROCK』で主演している『アレック･ボールドウィン』なんかが好きだった。
今では、多分、一番のお気に入り俳優になった。
彼の作品で最初に見たのは『男と女の不都合な真実』。
これについては、この後のブログは、何作か、彼の作品について書こうと思っているので、次のブログで感想なりを書こうと思うけど、個人的に、彼の映画の中でも、コメディー色の強いものや、ラブロマンス的な作品のほうを好んでいるみたい。
まあ、もとから、俳優･女優に関係なく、コメディーとかが好きなので、当たり前かもしれないけど。
なので、この意見には反発が多そうだけど、個人的には、コメディーとか、ラブコメ、ラブロマンスみたいな映画をもっとやってほしい。
これからも第一線で活躍してほしい俳優さんの一人である。
皆さんも、もし興味があれば、彼の作品をいくつか見てもらいたいものである。
Gerard Butler became my favorite actor a few years ago.
He studied law at collage and used to work as a lawyer.
But he wasn't satisfied with his work and his co-worker said that he must have something else that he really wants to do, so he decided to quit and tried to become an actor.
Honestly, I think people who have been his fan for a long time probably think I'm not his real fan.
But I like his stylish looks, his voice, and nice personality with a good sence of humor that I can see from his interviews that's what made me like him.
I wish I could become an adult like him, but I don't think it will happen.
I've watched only a few movies starring him.
I haven't watched his very famous movies like, "The Phantom of the Opera" and "300" yet.
So I admit that I might be not "real" fan, but he is still my favorite actor.
Before he became one of my favorite actors, my favorite actors were Matthew Perry from "FRIENDS(the TV show)", Robert DeNiro, and Alec Baldwin who is now acting in "30 ROCK(the TV show)".
But I think Gerard is probably my most favorite actor now.
The first movie starring him I watched was "The Ugly Truth".
About this movie, I think I will write my impression and stuff later since I'm thinking about writing a few posts about his movies starting with my next entry.
But I think, I personally like his movies with a touch of comedy and his romantic movies.
I guess it's natural since I like comedies and stuff no matter who the actors or actresses are acting in them.
I think many people may not agree, but I want him to act in more comedies, romantic comedies, and romantic movies more.
I hope he will continue to be popular and successful for a long time.
