Smile with Kids ミーティングがありました。
今年福島に行って、福島からケアンズに来てくれた子供達&ファミリーや、また現地で素晴らしい活動をされている方々にお会いしてお話聞いたり、見学させていただいたことの報告と共に
来年の活動について話し合いました。
その後にも、活動をサポートくださっているトライアングルの皆さんやエコバナナともきさんのお話を聞いたりして、皆さんの想いに感動したり励まされたりしていました。
14年前 福島で外で遊ぶことを制限されていた子供達をケアンズに呼んで、ケアンズの大自然でのびのび過ごしてもらいたいと始まった活動でした。
そして、これまで海で泳いだことのなかった子供達が本当に嬉しそうにケアンズの海で泳いでいたり、砂を触ったり、大自然と触れ合う姿に大切なことをたくさん教えてもらいながら
子供達が、本当の素の
ありのままの自分でいれた
とか
人前で自分の思っていることを言えるようになった
ケアンズでたくさんの方々がサポートくださっていることに感動した。
辛いことや悩んだことがあったときに
ケアンズの写真見て、楽しかったこと思い出して乗り越えてきたこと
など〜
報告してくれていました。
オーストラリアや日本からたくさんの方々のサポートがあってこそと改めて感謝でいっぱいです🙏
毎年本当に想いを入れて
活動してきたその想いは変わらず、
でも、かたちは少しずつ変わりながらも
15年経っている今だからこそ
次世代の方々のリードのもと
より子供達や人々の笑顔が広がるよう
ケアンズからできることをしていけたらと思っています。

We held the Smile with Kids General Meeting.
This year, after visiting Fukushima, we shared reports from meeting the children and families who came to Cairns from Fukushima, as well as the wonderful people working locally and the activities we observed there.
We also discussed our plans for next year’s activities.
After that, we listened to the Triangle team and Mr. Tomoki from Eco Banana, who have been supporting our activities.
Hearing their stories and heartfelt thoughts truly moved us.
Fourteen years ago, this project began with the wish to invite children in Fukushima—who were restricted from playing outdoors—to Cairns so they could spend time freely in the great nature here.
Since then, seeing children who had never swum in the ocean joyfully swim in the Cairns sea, touch the sand, and connect with nature taught us so many important things.
The children shared things like:
“I was able to be my true, natural self.”
“I learned to speak up about what I’m thinking in front of others.”
“I was moved by all the support we received from the people in Cairns.”
“Later, when I faced something difficult or felt troubled, I looked at my photos from Cairns, remembered the fun times, and it helped me get through.”
Every time, we learned so much from them.
We have poured our hearts into this project every year, and that dedication has never changed.
And now, 15 years on, as the shape of the project gradually evolves,
we feel it is the right time for the next generation to take the lead so that even more children’s smiles can spread.
From Cairns, we hope to continue doing what we can.
