ブログネタ:毎月絶対目を通す雑誌はある? 参加中There is one magazine that I always read through. Well, it helps, that is the only subscription that I currently have. I'm sure. Not much selection there.
In past, the ones I read through had been Time, National Geographic and Reader's Digest. Two of them are well known magazines to be in a magazine rack of the bathroom. Well, at least in my family, historically, the two (NG & RD) were the magazines that were to stay and be read on our visits to bathroom. The Time magazine was free to be read anywhere. It was not by my choice, that I kept flipping through the pages of Times however, especially when I was really young. But my parents used to give me and my brothers quizzes on what we read in Times at the dinner table and we never knew what question will be asked to whom, so we had to be prepared at all time. It was sort of like a pop quiz. I took a year of subscription on Time magazine, when I started to live on my own, but unfortunately, with the pop quizzes that my parents gave in my childhood, had conditioned me to relate the magazine with pop quizzes, which wasn't all that pleasing. So, I dropped the subscription on them after a year.
Instead, I had subscribed to the Sports Illustrated and that is the only magazine subscription that I currently have. I don't really have any specific section that I love reading on this magazine. I just read whatever articles there, as long as they are not about the NFL games or the basketball games. I don't really care for NFL, because I don't have to read it to know how bad Lions are doing... Just to give you heads up, they won nada 2 yrs ago and they either won 1 or 2 games out of their whole season, last year. Yep, they sucks. Just like native Michiganders have given their hopes up on Lions, so am I. Well, I guess, I could cheer for Giants, a team of my home state, but I don't have football channels to keep up with all the out of state games. The Basketball games never interested me at all. I don't feel close to that sport. I think I know the basic rules, but with me being only 5'3'', the basketball was just out of my reach. I DO read about college football, tho. I feel obliged as an alumni to see through how my school does, each year. Tho, I don't think, the Wolverines have been doing all that well, either.
Since the baseball season is practically over, and the magazine would put its focus on NFL and basketball games, I would have hard time finding a section that I love to read. I guess, there might be some articles on about Arizona Fall League, but it will be a bit while, till Sports Illustrated put its focus on Ice Hockey.
