癌の温熱療法
一般に、癌細胞は約42.5℃以上の高温環境で死滅しやすいとされています。
一方で、私たちの正常な細胞も同様の温度で障害を受けます。
しかし、人間の正常細胞には血管拡張による放熱機能があり、体全体が高温になっても細胞そのものが42.5℃以上に達することはほとんどありません。
たとえば60℃のサウナに入っても、体は自動的に冷却されるため、細胞が破壊されることはありません。
したがって、「サウナに入れば癌細胞が死滅する」という考えは誤りです。
では、どのようにして癌細胞だけを42.5℃以上に加熱し、選択的に死滅させるのでしょうか。
現在、癌細胞のみを加熱するための医療機器が開発されています。
それが ハイパーサーミア（癌の温熱治療法） と呼ばれる治療装置です。
患部に対して＋－の電極を用い、約800万HzのRF（高周波）エネルギーを照射して加温します。
週に1～2回の照射を継続することで、癌細胞が縮小し、死滅が促されるとされています。

**Hyperthermia for Cancer Treatment**
It is generally understood that cancer cells are more likely to be destroyed when exposed to temperatures above approximately 42.5°C.
Normal human cells can also be damaged at similar temperatures.
