Yep, Huilian is back from Malaysia (^∇^)

I realised that I haven't posted any pictures of my grandpa's house. So I took this opportunity to snap some pictures to dump here.

Well, what can I say? Welcome to my humble life. This is already much better than my grandpa's previous house, which was the kampung where I, more or less, grew up in.

Yes, the one where I spent my time chasing chickens and dogs.

Anyway, it's a simple life, yeah. But it beats than anything we have here.

Kaleidoscope:
This is the road behind the house, where we throw out leftovers for the stray animals. See what I mean when I said 'simple'?

Kaleidoscope:
A bigger picture of the road. Except for the endless torrents of flies, I actually like this place.

Kaleidoscope:
Ta-dah! My half-eaten breakfast. It's this peanut-filled cake thing we call Mee Jiang Kueh. Think crispy mochi filled with peanut(?)

Kaleidoscope:
Fried dough sticks. It's really cool to see the dough expand when it's fried (^O^)

Kaleidoscope:
Oh yeah, my uncle moved to a new house. This is the buffet he ordered...

Kaleidoscope:
...and this is the living room! That's my brother by the way. Say hi or he'll punch you.

One thing you'll never get to see in Singapore is the kind of massive house-warming parties people have in Malaysia. Seriously, the whole NEIGHBOURHOOD turns up just for that one family(ok, I admit, they just want the free meal). But it's still really cool nevertheless, and livens up the whole place.

Now THAT's house-warming!

Kaleidoscope:
160 people! Beat that!

Okay, now I'm beat. Time to curl back onto my bed and K.O for the night.

Kaleidoscope:
Before that, have I mentioned that this is the best soyabean milk I've ever drunk?

The holidays have finally started!! о(ж>▽<)y ☆

*Celebrates*

The view on top of the flyer was AWESOME. My $10 was well-spent, I think.

Kaleidoscope:
We got 1 whole cabin to ourselves

Kaleidoscope:
There's this really pretty garden below the flyer

Kaleidoscope:
MXW - the only person who wore our 15 shirt

Kaleidoscope:
Lookies: that's the Natoional Day Parade the floating thing thing (^-^)/

More random pictures I snapped. My camera sucks, I know ( ̄へ  ̄ ;

Kaleidoscope:
There's this really cool model of... I don't know what it's modeled after but it's still freaking cool

Kaleidoscope:
See? Cool right?

Kaleidoscope:
The flyer!! FYI: The Singapore Flyer is just a oversized Ferris Wheel but hey! You can make as much noise as you want inside!!

Anyway, I went for the Sakae buffet after that (`×´) The ebiko tasted weird but I still ate 5 plates of it. The chawanmushi is nice though!

Kaleidoscope:
Ebiko: My Second True Love

Kaleidoscope:
Sorry I mashed up the chawanmushi for fun so it doesn't look like anything now.

I'm going to Malaysia AGAIN in, like, another 15 minutes or so.

Hey! It started raining!! Finally!!! It's been really hot these days ヽ(;´ω`)ノ Singapore weather sucks like anything...

I recently borrowed a book about Chinese Face Reading and guess what? It's SO FREAKING COOL.

But it's not very accurate. I figured just as much after I tried it on Hey! Say! JUMP members:

1)Takaki
Intelligent, determined, dynamic and reliable. Creative, practical, virtuous, forgiving, generous. His mouth supposedly spells out fortune and talent.

2)Yamada
High level of intelligence and endurance, stubborn and assertive, hardly found unreliable. Practical, athletic, robust. Mouth denotes sensibility and luck.

3)Yabu
Intelligent, determined, dynamic and reliable. Balanced, inventive, compassionate, sociable, practical. His mouth denotes fortune a high-office. He has a bad luck mole at the place which governs "employee/employer relationship".

4)Ryutarou
Kind, tactful and contented. Intelligent, balanced, inventive, compassionate, sociable, practical. His mouth denotes sensuality and compassion.

5)Hikaru
Resourceful, creative and assertive, while being terribly good at concealing hurt feelings. Cautious, imaginative. His mouth denotes Luck and wealth, with an inclination to pleasure.

6)Daiki
Intelligent, determined, dynamic and reliable. Creative, practical, virtuous, forgiving, generous. His mouth denotes wealth and longevity.

7)Inoo
Kind, humane, faithful and loyal, steadfast in their work and able to endure hardship. Smart, balanced, inventive, compassionate, sociable, practical. His mouth denotes sensibility and luck, innocence and kindness.

8)Yuto

9)Keito
Has great endurance and fortitude, with a conscientious and forthright nature. Intellectual, cautious, imaginative. His mouth denotes fortune and talent. He has a bad luck mole at the place which governs "relationship with children".

10)Chinen
Intelligent and intuitive, sensitive and imaginative, ambitious and aims high. Balanced, inventive, compassionate, sociable. His mouth denotes power and wealth.

*Note: I didn't analyse their ears and eyebrows because I CAN'T SEE THEIR EARS and most of them had their eyebrows plucked (・ε・) I don't get the eyes bit either so let's just skip that!

Another note: all their noses spell out fame, wealth and success. I don't think anyone can argue with that (・Θ・;)

Ahhh that was so time-consuming!! Shall go eat more yogurt... Oo。。( ̄¬ ̄*)

Kaleidoscope:

...LOVE OF MY LIFE. i think?

No. Wait. Scratch that.

I JUST LOVE YOGURT. Got any problems with that? ( ̄▽+ ̄*)
I can't stand it anymore. Kids nowadays are so freaking pampered and bimbotic ( ̄□ ̄;)

Seriously! Like, 70% of the Primary 6, aka 12-year-old prepubescent girls were wearing mini-skirts. And they had fringes, for crying out loud.

If I didn't remember wrongly, my personal dress code when I was 12 was strictly shirt+jeans+sport shoes, zero fringe and baby hair. And these kiddos? Mini DRESSES, mini shirts, TUBE TOPS, heels, and whatever weird things they stash away in their wardrobes.

God, these bunch of little kids are just desperate for boyfriends/hanging out neon "I AM AVAILABLE" signs for pedophiles. I even spotted them wearing gold-freaking-colored pumps - something which I had never worn in all 16 years of my life thank you. They think they look grown up and pretty? I think it's disgusting.

It's not because I'm jealous. Trust me, I have more money and taste than that. Gold pumps with jeans and a black-pink shirt? Why don't you shape up on your fashion sense before you feel indignation at this. More than anything else, who do they think they're trying to impress at a RGS Open House? *points at the obvious lack of guys*

Urgh ok, enough of the bitching. I'm just unhappy that the next intake is gonna be even richer, more spoilt and dumber than the previous 2 batches. Dumb, not in the sense that they can't study, but more like stubborn+lack of common sense+lack of respect for anyone other than themselves.

And parents aren't doing much to help their children either. Whatever happened to Civics and Moral Education? Whatever happened to family values for that matter?

Anyway, some photos I took at the NCC booth:

Kaleidoscope:
Look! It's Xiaobai!! I'm the butt okay! Lion dance is so damn cool (・ω・)/

Kaleidoscope:
The NCC(Land) booth. Just look at that green uniform there. It's like, more than 10 years old, I think. Cool eh?

SL Funds are still in debt o(;△;)o This is so not looking good...

「Because most people will never know anything beyond what they see with their own two eyes」

I got this quote from X-men. Weird, huh, because I don't look like I watch X-men at all. People can be deceived and have their vision limited to a tiny spectrum, but they'll still fiercely hold onto what they see as the truth. Is there no better way to determine what's real and what's not?

Most of the time, can we even see what's right and what's wrong in the first place?

I got that same feeling when I watched Iwojima. The way the soldiers accepted everything they were told to do, and believed everything that they were convinced into believing; just how strong and how weak are our minds actually?

With the prospect of death looming over them, to what extent are people going to go against morality just to survive?

Were they wrong to do so?

It's the same with us actually, we'd think of others as savages and tyrants, just because they are a threat to our existence. But how many of us stop and think: did they choose this out of their own free will?

How many of them have families waiting for them back at home, just like us, being literally used as hostages?

It's not like I'm asking people to blame themselves or anything, because desperation breeds irrational thinking, and that I understand. Nor am I in a position to comment anyway - I'm just another spoilt brat of the 21st century.

But one thing we shouldn't forget is that, for every soldier who gives his life in a war, they'll be yet another family who goes into mourning in this world.

Is there really no way humans can co-exist without conflicts?

I've been really busy with Service Learning things Fundraising and all that crap is NOT fun to organize and certainly time-consuming.

I'll think twice about doing such things again.

Currently we're still about $300 in debt, and from the looks of it we'll probably stay this way till the end of June holidays. Talk about bad money management hmph.

I'm getting used to Ryutarou's lyrics.

And I'm getting rusty at translating J-Pop.

I tried doing Koi no ABO and... failed spectacularly. It's high-school girl talk I tell you! Completely alien!!!!

。(´д`lll) I feel old.
Annual camp was.... super tiring !(´Д`;)

Shall not talk too much about it, cuz it was really screwed up and I feel like dying whenever I think about it. I almost died of worry when Liu Anqi was like crisis-ing upstairs can?? Omg if anything happened I swear I would cry the shit out of myself.

Anw, the cool photos I sneak snapped:

Kaleidoscope:
One cool thing about camping overnight: you can drag the table outside Queens staffroom to the middle of the corridor, sit there and crack jokes about stargents while eating Khong Guan(biscuits).

Kaleidoscope:
Never seen the corridor so empty eh...

Kaleidoscope:
That's Lim Yujia acting cute by the way. Just LOOK at the state of our bunk :*:・( ̄∀ ̄)・:*:

Kaleidoscope:
The school at night. It's freaking pretty (・ω・)/

Kaleidoscope:
THIS was taken during free block. I love the canteen when it's empty.

Ah wells. I'm tired. Like seriously tired to the bone. For the first time in my life, I actually sleepwalked, though it lasted for like 10 minutes only. According to my mom, I walked out of my room, went to the phone, picked it up and started talking to someone, dropped the phone, and went back to my room.

And I woke up remembering nothing about it.
