Yep, Huilian is back from Malaysia (^∇^)
I realised that I haven't posted any pictures of my grandpa's house. So I took this opportunity to snap some pictures to dump here.
Well, what can I say? Welcome to my humble life. This is already much better than my grandpa's previous house, which was the kampung where I, more or less, grew up in. (・・;)
Yes, the one where I spent my time chasing chickens and dogs.
Anyway, it's a simple life, yeah. But it beats than anything we have here.
This is the road behind the house, where we throw out leftovers for the stray animals. See what I mean when I said 'simple'?
A bigger picture of the road. Except for the endless torrents of flies, I actually like this place.
Ta-dah! My half-eaten breakfast. It's this peanut-filled cake thing we call Mee Jiang Kueh. Think crispy mochi filled with peanut(?)
Fried dough sticks. It's really cool to see the dough expand when it's fried (^O^)
Oh yeah, my uncle moved to a new house. This is the buffet he ordered...
...and this is the living room! That's my brother by the way. Say hi or he'll punch you.
One thing you'll never get to see in Singapore is the kind of massive house-warming parties people have in Malaysia. Seriously, the whole NEIGHBOURHOOD turns up just for that one family(ok, I admit, they just want the free meal). But it's still really cool nevertheless, and livens up the whole place.
Now THAT's house-warming!
160 people! Beat that!
Okay, now I'm beat. Time to curl back onto my bed and K.O for the night.
Before that, have I mentioned that this is the best soyabean milk I've ever drunk?
マレーシアの豆乳!最高だっ!
