Philips has launched a battery-free version of its Fidelio NC1L headphones for iOS devices.
The on-ear cans have become the first Active Noise Canceling headphones to ditch batteries thanks to a direct digital connection to an Apple Lightning connector.
"The Philips Fidelio NC1L headphones combine advanced Active Noise Canceling technology with all the advantages of a direct digital connection to your iOS device," said Wiebo Vaartjes of Philips licensee WOOX Innovations.

The Fidelio NC1L headphones offer 24-bit Digital to Analogue Conversion amplification and noise cancellation takes place within the accessory itself.
They will be released in Western Europe this spring with a suggested retail price of €299 (£234).
