An elegant looking notebook computer with good performance, the Acer Aspire V3 has inherited the sleek design of the prestigious Aspire S7 and comes complete with Acer nano-imprint patterning technology on its aluminium top cover, adding an extra touch of class.
Aspire V3's power and battery indicator lights are placed on the spine, making them easy to see when the notebook is open or closed. They face upwards when placed in a notebook bag, so you can just unzip the bag to check the battery status.
The Aspire V 3 is slim and light, with the body a mere 19.65 mm and weighing in at 1.5 kg, making it highly portable. It comes with 3,220 mAh Lithium ion battery that lasts up to seven hours.
The Aspire V3 is powered by the 4th generation Intel CoreTM i5-4210U and its graphics horsepower comes from Intel HD Graphics 4400 chipset, which is good for casual games though not for graphics-extensive games.
The notebook has enough working memory - 4 gigabytes DDR3 RAM and is equipped with 1 terabyte hard drive.

Acer distributes Aspire V3 with the Linux operating system though the test unit came with the Windows 8.1 Enterprise Evaluation operating system. The Aspire V3 started up in just 12 seconds and took about six seconds to shut down.
The notebook does not use a touch-screen panel so scrolling had to be done with the touchpad. Nonetheless, it was fast and the OpenOffice 4.1.1 applications ran smoothly during the test.
With a full-size keyboard and a roomy 3.6mm distance between keys, the notebook is made for comfortable typing.
The Aspire V3 has Dolby Home Theatre technology so it sounds good and it plays music and video files smoothly.
