君たちが 生い茂る緑の樹海を歩いていると、鋭い声がとつぜん君たちを呼び止めた。

それ以上進んではいけない！！
【ナレーション】
When you turn around, you find a protector with a black beast at his side; it is Hrothgar of Guild Beowulf.
振り返ると、君たちが見つけた 黒い獣を引き連れた守護騎士は ベオウルフギルドのフロースガルだ。
Upon closer inspection, you see three injured guards collapsed on the ground behind him.
さらに近い距離で観察すると、彼の後ろに倒れ伏す三人の傷ついた衛兵たちを 君たちは見る。
What has happened here...? You consider asking the man.
ここで何が起こったのだろう…？ 君たちは彼に尋ねることを考える。

（Ask what happened）
何が起こったのか尋ねる。
【ナレーション】
You ask the red-haired man what happened beyond this door.
君は 赤い髪の男に この先の部屋で何が起こったのか尋ねる。
【フロースガル】

【ナレーション】
The red-haired man shows signs of distress, but he looks each of you in the eye before speaking up.
赤い髪の男は 困窮を示す様子を見せたが、彼は 君たちそれぞれを見て 話始める。
【フロースガル】
The guard corps you were searching for was attacked. Their unit was decimated, though some managed to escape.
君たちの探している衛兵部隊は襲撃を受けた。何人かは逃走に成功したが、彼らの部隊のうち数人は殺されてしまった。
【ナレーション】
Hrothgar gives a backward glance to the three guards behind him. Their wounds are treated and they sleep peacefully.
フロースガルは 後ろの３人の衛兵たちを一目見やる。彼らの怪我は処置され、安らかそうに眠っている。
【フロースガル】
From what I could glean, they were set upon by a monster they’d never seen before.
俺の収集できる限りからだが、彼らは見たことがない魔物に襲われたんだろう。
【フラヴィオ】
Wait, so... did the monster take out everyone apart from those three!?
待て、つまり… その魔物は 彼ら三人から全員を引き離してしまったのか！？
【フロースガル】
I don’t know. They mentioned guard named Brucke, who ran west to draw the monster away.
わからない。彼らは、魔物を引いて西へ逃げて行ったのが ブルックという名前の衛兵だと言及していた。

このような怪我を負いながらも、逃れて、私に発見されることができたのは、彼の己を顧みない行動のおかげだったという。

…なに！？ 見慣れない魔物が現れ、そして衛兵たちが壊滅状態にあるじゃと！？

これを言うのは非常に心苦しいが…、しかし、衛兵たちは皆、能力では引けを取らないのだ。

You cautiously look over and find a familiar-seeming hedgehog...
君たちは 注意深く目をやると、見慣れた様子のハリネズミを見つける…。
（フラヴィオの顔が険しくなる）
【ナレーション】
Once more, it is stuck fast due to its spines becoming lodged in the tree’s roots.
いま一度、そのハリが木の根に突っかかったせいで、身動きが取れなくなっている。
【ベルトラン】
We called it. How dump is this thing?
言っただろ。どんだけゴミなんだコイツ？
【ナレーション】
You may rescue the foolish hedgehog or leave it to its predicament.
君は 愚かなハリネズミを助けてもいいし、そのまま窮地に置き去りにしてもいい。
［シグルズ］

【ナレーション】

「乗り掛かった船だ(１ペニーの為でも、１ポンドの為でも 構わないさ)」君は君自身に思い、それに近づいてゆく。
Yet you still recall the intense pain your last rescue attempt resulted in. It is something you are not eager to repeat.
君は まだ、最後の手助けの試みの結果となった、激しい痛みを思い出す。それは何としても繰り返したくないものだ。
You pause, considering briefly how best to go about this.
君は動きを止め、どう行くのがベストか、簡単に考えてみる。

（Look into its eyes as you work）
作業しながら、その目を見つめる。
【ナレーション】
Though it cannot grasp your speech, you think you may yet reach an understanding with it as you gently look into its eyes.
君の話しかけを把握できないとしても、ハリネズミの理解にたどり着けるかもしれないと考えながら、君は優しい目線で それを見つめる。
As you work at dislodging the hedgehog, you try to convey through your stare that you only wish to help the creature...
ハリネズミの突っかかりを取る作業をしながら、君は視線を通して、俺は ただ生き物を助けたいのだ という願いを伝えようとする。
When all the sines have been extricated from the tree, the hedgehog obediently jumps to the ground from your hands.
すべてのハリが 木から救出されると、ハリネズミは従順に 君の手から地面へ飛び降りた。
You seem to have gotten through to it!
君は やり遂げたようだ！
【アリアンナ】
Oh!?
あら！？
【ナレーション】
But while you exult in this turn of events, the hedgehog picks something off the ground and throws it at your face!
しかし、君が 事の顚末に大喜びしていると、ハリネズミは何かを地面から拾い上げ、君の顔面めがけて投げつけてきた！

【フラヴィオ】
A-Are you okay? It doesn’t look like it left a mark...
だ、大丈夫か？ 跡にはなってないみたいだな…。
【ナレーション】
In truth, your pride is more punctured than your skin.
実のところ、皮膚以上に、君のプライドがパンクし ぺしゃんこになってしまった。
【クロエ】
Hm...? Look. It’s a rare material.
ん…？ 見て。珍しい物質。
【ベルトラン】
Why don’t you keep it, as a little thank-you from the hedgehog?
とっておいたらどうだ？ あのハリネズミからの ちょっとしたお礼としてさ。
【ナレーション】
You convince yourself that this is the case and put away the hedgehog’s token of gratitude before going on your way.

I kept yelling, “Sigurd suddenly transformed! Help him!”
「シグルズが変身しちゃったんだ！ 彼を助けて！」って 叫び続けた。
But no one believed me. Flavio the Fibber, at it again.
だけど 誰も信じてくれなかった。嘘つきフラヴィオ、また同じこと言ってるって。
When you two woke up, neither of you remember it happening, so they all really thought I was lying.
２人が目を覚ましたとき、どちらとも起こったことを覚えてなかったから、彼らは 本当に俺が嘘をついてたんだと考えた。
I figured it was what I deserved for all the lies I told before...
それまでに 俺のついた全ての嘘に相応しい呼び名だと思ったよ。
