いいですね。新年は気持ちを改めて人生を本気で生きようとステキなきっかけを与えてくれると僕は毎回感じています。
新年はいかがお過ごしだったでしょうか？ご近所の神社に初詣しましたか？
僕は早稲田近くの神社に行きました！近所の方に甘酒と豚汁を無料で提供していて感動しました！今年の初の感動です！
さて、新年な訳です！外国の方のお友達、知人や同僚の関係を改めるせっかくのチャンスを掴みましょう！

ちなみに1月の最初の2週間の間に新年の挨拶をするようにとなんとなく風習があるように感じます。
そして！
日本で次のような言い方を聞いたことがありますが、実は英語では不自然な言い方なので、一応ここに載せておきますね〜〜
* Merry new Year
* Good new Year
* Congratulations
* This is new Year, congratulations to you.
特に3行目と4行目は日本語のあいさつの「明けましておめでとうございます」に影響を受けていますね。
それに続く「今年のよろしくお願いします」は結構便利なフレーズですよね。英語にはそういう100％合うフレーズがないんです。
さあ、言い方はわかっても、今度どういう風に伝えたら正解かと思われるあなたには、ちゃんと心に残る身振りを教えます！
日本では良くお辞儀をするんですが、一般的に海外だとお辞儀ではなくて、ちゃんと相手の目を見て無理のないステキな笑顔で摂取てあげましょう。

This is a new year, so why not take the chance to start afresh your relationships with your non-Japanese friends, acquaintances and colleagues?
What are the smoothest ways to greet them the first time you meet them?
Here are the ways people in my family use to greet others during the first 2 weeks of January:
* Happy new Year (2018)!
* Best Wishes (for 2018)!
* Have a great new Year!
* Have a fantastic new Year!
* May 2018 be yours to fulfil!
Here are some greetings that do not sound natural to a native English speaker’s ear:
* Merry new Year
* Good new Year
* Congratulations
* This is new Year, congratulations to you.
Now obviously some of those a largely influenced by the Japanese version ‘Akemashite Omedetou gozaimasu’ (literally: “A new Year has opened. Congratulations!”).
In Japanese people very often follow that sentence up with another one : “Kotoshi mo yoroshiku onegaishimasu”, a sentence that means literally “Let’s get along well this year too”. It doesn’t have any 100% translation, but is indeed very convenient to use in Japanese.
Ok, so we know now what to say. But how should we say it? Indeed, people in Japan will naturally start bowing at each other while greeting eachother.
This is however very uncommon when greeting in English. The most natural way to convey your best wishes is to look at them in the eyes! Oh and don’t forget that nice and genuine smile of yours when you greet them!
