I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hotel Mountain View Inn on Camp Fuji, where my calligraphy piece “Fuji” is displayed at the entrance.
I’m also truly grateful that the hotel sells some of my calligraphy works in their gift shop. When I arrived, I was told that someone who had purchased one of my pieces heard I was visiting and went out looking for me to get my autograph!
So I hurried to find him too after a few missed turns and funny moments of passing each other on the road. And we finally met!
He told me about his work serving to protect others, and shared some reflections about returning to Japan after a long time. His motto really touched my heart: “Be a shield, not a bully.”
He even gave me a commemorative medal as a keepsake. Such a meaningful encounter that I’ll never forget!!
I had the pleasure of visiting Camp Fuji, where I’ve been fortunate to have my calligraphy work sold at the gift shop and hotel. I'm always grateful for their continued support.
On this day, we were welcomed by a picture-perfect view of Mt. Fuji!!
Also, I was treated to a delicious meal at an Asian restaurant "COMECOME", recommended by the managers. Thank you as always.
