About Guam

I’ll write what I thought about Guam in this post.

I was on an airplane for 4 hours.
It’s half way to Hawaii.
The airplane was full.
It was very narrow, but I could put up with it.
Because it’s only 4 hours.

The weather was like Japanese summer.
It was humid. (Because of bad weather?)
But the temperature was lower than I thought.
I almost wore my long sleeved shirt.
The stores were especially cold.

I stayed at a hotel in Tumon town.
Tumon town is the most crowded town in Guam.
(A lot of Japanese are there.)
So, I almost didn’t use difficult English in the hotel and around the stores.
I used only Japanese and easy English.
My wife almost can’t speak any English.
But it was no problem.

I thought Guam people can speak Japanese better than in Hawaii.
Because there were a lot of difficult situations in Hawaii.
For example, I couldn’t order food and understand the use of the equipment in the hotel.
But there was no difficult situation in Guam.

I thought Guam is easy for Japanese people.
I was convinced because there were a lot of Japanese there.
But it seems that South Korean people are increasing recently.
I had seen them.
The local people said, “I have to study Korean language too.”

There was no problem with me not using English in Guam.
But I used English whenever possible so I can study English.
If I can’t speak English in Guam, I think it’s fun.
But if I can speak English better, it’s more fun.
Because the local people are so cool.
I could speak a little with them.
It was fun. (They said a lot of jokes.)
I thought I’ll study English more.

The hardest situation for me was the following.
A lot of people lined up in the Guam airport when I checked-in and did immigration.
It seems that all the Japanese airplanes are almost at the same time. (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka.)
I waited over 30 minutes.
I thought it was like the Disney Resort in Japan.
I didn’t want to line up overseas.

And I lost my bas belt.
I’m sad…

I had no time this time, so, I couldn’t do underwater walking.
My wife said, “I don’t have a long vacation,
but you have a long vacation. (GW, summer holidays and winter holidays.)
So, you should come to Guam alone or with your friends.”
I thought it’s a good idea!
I couldn’t take my best camera, because of the bad weather.
If I go to Guam next time, I’ll take a cheap ticket and my best camera.

Anyways, this trip was good!
