見齊衰者、雖狎、必變。見冕者與瞽者、雖褻、必以貌。凶服者式之、式負版者。有盛饌、
必變色而作。迅雷風烈、必變。

十九 斉衰者(しさいしゃ)を見(み)れば、狎(な)れたりと雖(いえど)も、必(かなら)
ず変(へん)ず。冕者(べんしゃ)と瞽者(こしゃ)とを見(み)れば、褻(な)れたりと雖(いえど)も、
必(かなら)ず貌(ぼう)を以(もっ)てす。凶服者(きょうふくしゃ)には之(これ)に式(しょく)し、
負版者(ふはんしゃ)に式(しょく)す。盛饌有(せいせんあ)れば、必(かなら)ず色(いろ)を
変(へん)じて作(た)つ。迅雷風烈(じんらいふうれつ)には、必(かなら)ず変(へん)ず。
現代語訳
孔先生は、喪服を着ている人と出会う時には、相手が気安くしている人であっても、必ず
顔つきを正し哀悼の言葉をかけた。大夫や音楽官と出会う時には、知り合いでも、必ず
礼節をもって接した。車に乗っている時、喪服を着ている人に出会った時には、必ず
礼式に従って敬礼した。公文書を背負った人に出会うと、必ず敬礼した。
他者から盛大なご馳走を頂いた時、必ず顔つきを改めて立って敬意を表した。
雷や烈風の時は、天の怒りを鎮める為に、必ず顔つきを改めて慎んだ。
英訳
When Confucius meet a person who is wearing mourning, even if the person who is very cheap the face was corrected and the word of mourning was put. When Confucius meet a large husband or a musician, even if you know it,he was treated with civility. When Confucius are in a car, when he meet someone in mourning, be sure saluted according to the ceremony. When Confucius met a person who had an official document, he was always saluted.
When Confucius received a big feast from the others, he stood up and the face was corrected and
saluted. When the thunder and the wind, to quell the wrath of heaven, Confucius always refrain from the face.
