All offices and workplaces should allow pets. Discuss.
Everyone was not able to go out and communicate with friends and colleagues worldwide due to the coronavirus pandemic. People needed to think about making a cozy environment at home. Therefore, many people have been interested in having pets such as dogs or cats because pets always relax us. Before COVID, people couldn't spend much time with their pets on weekdays because they had to work at their offices. However, people can be with their pets all day long now because they can work from home. It would be delighted for pets to spend time with their owners as well.
Depending on the occupation, many companies provide a new work style, working from home, to their employees due to COVID. People are getting used to the new work style, but it doesn't have all the advantages. Of course, the new work style provides employees some advantages. For example, they don’t need to commute by crowded trains or buses for a long distance or take much time to put on makeup or choose work attires in the busy morning. However, it is difficult for employees to communicate with their bosses and colleagues due to working from home. Therefore, it is a good idea that a Japanese technology company is allowing its employees to bring dogs to the office. The room that employees can work with dogs called the “Dog Office” is highly recognized by employees. It seems that the employees can have an opportunity to talk with their bosses and colleagues through “dog talk” and build good relationships with them. However, they need to consider some people who have allergies to animals or don’t like animals. The employees have to make a reservation to use the “Dog Office” and the room allows up to six dogs in a day. Additionally, dog food and comfortable floor mats are prepared in the room because dogs will spend a cozy time there as well.
Workplaces are very important for workers because they spend most of the days there. Although companies need to define rules and take into account all workers, it will be able to raise work productivity by introducing a new attempt to workplaces.
I think that no commuting is the best thing about remote working. My reasons are…
1. If we don’t need to commute, we can use the commute time for household chores or more sleep hours.
2. It is a risky behavior because of COVID to commute by crowded trains or buses, even if we wear masks.
3. In the case of remote working, we don’t need to worry about the delay of a train or bus.
