The premise of Byron's The Vision of Judgment is partly writing and part political, but its spring was Byron's loathing of Cant and hypocrisy.

On the change of King George III, old, mad, and blind, in 1820, the Poet Laureate Robert Southey produced a complimentary verse form. Written in unrhymed hexameter, its attempts at self-respect achieved no more than a timeworn ostentation. But far worse was its false piety and grovelling tone. Entitled "The Vision of Judgment" it showed George III's success hallway into the gates of eden and the denunciation of his enemies. To Byron, the open flattery of a King, who was at influential mediocre and at lowest tyrannical, was tremendously unsavory.

Byron was specially umbrageous because he saw Southey as a disloyal - one who had erst espoused the large-minded cause, but had after denaturized his racing colours to give your backing to the regnant Tory knees-up. Further Southey had in public attacked Byron's writing style as belonging to the "Satanic School" whose upshot was to undermine religious studies and to degenerate ethical motive. Southey was liable too, as Byron believed, for wide-spreading unmistaken shameful rumours more or less Byron's go in Switzerland. (Byron indeed had torrid personal matters beside roughly speaking lx to 70 women). Byron present took settling of scores by assailing some Southey and his "Vision" beside lavish jeer.

For example

At the bill gates of Heaven, uncommunicative by St. Peter, we brainstorm the archangel Michael and Satan claiming King George's spirit for glory and hell on earth respectively. The climax comes when the devil Asmodeus comes carrying the writer Southey himself, interpreted in the Lake District of England as he was dedication his "Vision". Southey, to his delight, is invited to declaim his literary composition lone to find its hexameter so unwieldy as to flout recitation.

After this being silly on his "gouty feet" Byron lets him walk unsteadily off an sketch of his works as a quitter. He had documentary praiseful regicide as besides all kings. He had written both for and in opposition republics, warfare, the reviewing job and besides new philosophy. He offers to create verbally the go of Satan; and when Satan denies the offer, to keep in touch Michael's natural life. As he starts to perform his "Vision" the assembled angels, devils and ghosts all nonexistent to evade the hideous education. St. Peter knocks fur near his keys Southey, who body of water fur into a lake, but presently came up to the surface

"For all imperfect material possession are buoyed look-alike corks" and he may be concealed at his den now to "scrawl some 'Life' or 'Vision'".

Any examples

Byron's Vision is a wit sarcasm whose topic is eroding pronounced by a devastating scorn, contempt and hilarity at Southey the man and lyricist.
