Iwamura is a small castle town, located in the south-east area of Gifu Prefecture. 
History of Iwamura started in the twelfth century, when the Iwamura Castle was built in the Kamakura Age.


You can access to Iwamura by Akechi Railway from Ena Station on the JR Chuo Main Like. 
The scenery from a train is very calm and peaceful.

At the middle of the main street, the street was bent in a hook shape with 90 degrees bents. 
"Kosatsu", a notice board, was displaced near the bending portion of the main street.

The main Iwamura area was originally a castle town in the Edo Age. 
"KATSUKAWA Residence" is one of the remaining houses from the Edo Age.

When you walk to the further east, you will find the "KIMURA Residence". 
KIMURA family was a wholesale dealer in the Edo Age.

The buildings, which walls were covered in mud, were splended and keeps the atmosphere in the Edo Age.

The location of the "KIMURA Residence" is close to the Iwamura Castle.
