The page of "Daijyuji Temple" as "Your Destination in Japan" now has been uploaded:

Daijyuji Temple is located approximately 3 kilo-meterto the north of Okazaki Castle.
The temple was built in 1475 by MATSUDAIRA Chikatada, the fourth of MATSUDAIRA family.
Daijyuji temple originally was the family temple of MATSUDAIRA (later TOKUGAWA) Family.

The main gate was rebuilt in 1641 by the third "Shogun", TOKUGAWA Iemitsu.
During the Edo Age, the temple received great support by TOKUGAWA Bakufu.
The temple used to have more than 20 and more branch temples during the Edo Age.

TOKUGAWA Iemitsu, a grandson of Ieyasu, improved the temple buildings from 1636.
The location of the main hall and the main gates were aligned with Okazaki Castle.
You will see the tower building of Okazaki Castle through the main gates of Daijyuji Temple.

City of Okazaki protects the view of Okazaki Castle from Daijyuji Temple
by controlling construction of buildings between Okazaki Castle and Daijyuji Temple.

At the north end of Daijyuji Temple, tombs of eight generations of MATSUDAIRA family are located.
