そして後ろを
雪に埋もれた木々の間から

奥の院へ向かう足が
はやまりました
The moment I saw this sky,
I started to walk faster to
Okunoin.
It’s going to be beautiful
today!
12日の午前中降り続いた雪は
まだ柔らかくサラサラで
雪を楽しみながら
参道を歩きました
I enjoyed walking
on the pathway covered with
fresh and powdery snow.
そして
気温マイナス6度の
誰もいない御廟で
空海としばし
語らいました
Then, I was alone at
the mausoleum and
had great time with Kukai.
帰り道
中の橋に向かって
歩いていると
朝日が奥の院を
照らし始めました
On my way back to
Nakanohashi,
the morning sun started
shining upon Okunoin.
朝日の中の雪景色
なんてきれいなのでしょう
Okunoin covered with snow
looked more beautiful
under the sunlight.
青空が広がっていました
The blue skies spread
over Ichinohashi.
青空が高野山を
覆っています
In fact, the blue skies
stretch out the whole
Koya town.
どんな色でも
美しさが引き立つ
蛇腹道
Jyabaramichi looks
so beautiful with any color.
昨日Y子から
“伽藍にアヒルがいる”
と連絡が来ました
Y told me yesterday that
there were ducks at Garan.
発見！
I found them!
振り返ると
When I turned around
太陽が顔を覗かせていました
I saw the sparkling sunlight
between the trees covered
with snow.
移住しなければ
見ることはなかったであろう
この光景
I wouldn’t be able to see
this scenery if I didn’t
move to Koyasan.
奥の院でほぼ毎朝出会う
素敵な優しい女性に
言われました
A sweet lady whom I see
at Okunoin almost every day
said
「極寒を乗り切ったから
貴女はもう大丈夫！」
Since you’ve just survived
that severe cold weather,
you can handle anything now.
一番心配していた
高野山の冬ですが
The cold weather was
my main concern
before moving to Koyasan.
高野山の冬.....
