梅雨が明けた途端に
高野山は真夏日が
続いています。
As soon as the rainy season
was over, it’s been very hot
in Koyasan.
高野山は夏でも涼しく
避暑地のようだと
聞いておりましたが、
Although I was told that
it’d be cool during the summer,
湿度が高いので
ハワイより
暑く感じます。
I actually feel hotter here
than I was in Hawaii
because of the humidity.
しかしながら、
梅雨の間より、
体調はだいぶ回復し、
Nonetheless, I feel
much better than
during the rainy season,
and
滞っていた諸々の事を
片付けておりましたので
ブログをアップできません
でした。
I’ve been trying to catch up
with all the things I put aside
last 2 months, so I couldn’t
update my blog.

さて、その真夏日の
木曜日と金曜日は
2日続けて、
高野山総合診療所に
定期診断に行きました。
Well, I went to Koyasan
Clinic on the very hot day
of Thursday and Friday
for regular check-up.
自宅から
歩いて15分の距離ですが、
あまりの暑さに、
到着する頃は
汗だくの上、
息切れもしました。
Koyasan Clinic is located
only about 15 min walk
from my apartment, but
it was so hot that I was sweat
and out of breath by the time
I arrived there.
そのような私を
大好きな高野山総合診療所は
夏らしいヒマワリで
迎えてくれました。
There were sunflowers at
the front entrance welcoming me.
じつは、
ヒマワリをあまり
好きではないので、
To tell you the truth,
I actually don’t care
about sunflowers.
「高野山にヒマワリは
似合わない。」
It seemed that the sunflower
didn’t look good in Koyasan.
と、勝手な思いを
吐露することを
お許しください。
Please forgive me if
I sound biased.
診察室の前で
順番を待っていましたら、
I was waiting for my turn
in front of the doctor’s office,
若いお坊さんが
看護師さんと
お話ししています。
I saw a young monk
talking to a nurse.
「動悸と立ちくらみですか？」
Are you having palpitations
and dizziness?
どうやら
熱中症のようです。
I wondered
if he had heatstroke.
この暑さですので、
クーラーなどない
お寺で働いている方たちは
お辛いことでしょう。
I feel so bad for those people
working in the temples where
there are no ACs during
this hot summer.
夏休み、そして、お盆と、
高野山に訪れる方も多いと
思いますが、
During the summer vacations,
I assume many people
would visit Koyasan.
まだ涼しく、
朝焼けが美しい早朝に
奥の院をお参りくださいませ。
I suggest everyone to
visit Oku-no-in in the early
morning when it’s still cool
and the morning glow is
beautiful.
