it's been a enjoyable two days.

it wasn't extremely fun.

it wasn't extremely crazy.

but I enjoyed it throughly.

got into a habit of leaving my phone at home.

I never knew I could miss so much of the world, when I'm not distracted by the phone.

I want to keep up this habit.

people should all keep their phones and learn to observe the world instead, things would be so much more interesting.

observing and seeing is very different.

an extract from Sherlock Holmes goes like this:

Sherlock: so how many times have you seen the stairs of this apartment

Wattson: tens of hundreds, I've gone up and down them everyday.

Sherlock: so how many steps are there in that staircase?

Wattson: well, I have no idea

Sherlock: that's because you're only seeing. not observing. for me, I know that there are seventeen steps consisting of the staircase. because I have both seen, and observed.

I want to be more observant.

I wish society was more open as a whole as well.

I wish I could turn to the next person on the train, and ask them about their day.

maybe tell them about mine.

wouldn't life be so much more interesting, so much more fun?
