It truly feels like the end of the world.

A major ally who united young Trump supporters was assassinated.

I had only just gotten to know him, yet I feel such a

profound sense of loss.

Even though I didn’t know him well, I feel as if something inside me has been shaken.

He was a 23-year-old activist and YouTuber, regarded as Trump’s next-generation successor.

Moreover, he was said to be a key figure in supporting Trump.

The way he carried out his activities: entering right into the midst of leftist-only students, setting up a booth, and calmly challenging them to open debate.

He gradually became known. And yet, he was still only 23.

It’s said that he had been active since his teenage years.

Some time ago, when I heard Mr. Oikawa explain that he had come to Japan.

It made me think of young Jesus, who as a child would debate with adults in the temple.

It felt reassuring, and somehow endearing because of his youth.

John, too, was active from a young age.

The earliest Christians would debate right in the midst of hostile adversaries.

I deeply respected him, wondering if he might be one of those great souls in that same lineage.

He possessed both intellect and the power to take action.

And of course, courage as well.

Above all, he was young and already well-known—regarded as a central figure of the next generation. 👦

He was balanced, not biased, and everyone expected him to become a good leader.

He was truly reliable and inspiring.

And yet—this happened. Right after he came to Japan and grew close to the Sanseitō party.

It’s said it happened just after Mr. Takenaka and others declared they would crush the Sanseitō party.
