千歳空港からレンタカーで直接札幌までいくのは勿体ないので、夕張・富良野まで足を延ばして。
私は山田洋次監督の映画がとても好きですが、幸福の黄色いハンカチという映画を昔見たときには子どもながらに、不器用な優しさを醸し出す高倉健演じる男性の魅力を感じ、「なんて切なくて温かなストーリーなんだろう」と感動したことを覚えている。
夕張市は、幸福の黄色いハンカチのロケ地だったため「幸福の黄色いハンカチ想い出ひろば」という場所がある。石炭発掘地として栄えていた時代には活気に溢れていたであろう夕張の街は、今は人も店も少なく、ただ広大に広がる土地の一角にポツンとある一軒家がチケット販売所だった。撮影当時からあった床屋さんを唯一残しているのだそう。そこにはご年配の男性が一人チケットを販売し、店内に飾られている役者さんたちの写真などについて、ポツポツと訪れる観光客に話してくれた。
少し歩くと風にたくさんの黄色いハンカチがたなびいていた。
うまく表現できないけど、" フワー" と心が波打つように感動した。
青い空、紅や黄金色に輝く木々、木造とトタンの家。そして黄色いハンカチ。
風の音以外何もないけどとても幸せだった。
山田洋次監督は、この映画を洋楽の曲調と歌詞から想像を広げて造ったという。
Dawnが歌う「Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree」。
歌詞が映画のストーリーにあまりにも一致していて、でも山田洋次監督の脚色はあまりにも日本テイストで二度感動。
