What is an important skill needed to live in the world today?

Choose one skill that you believe is important to learn, and give specific reasons and examples to support your choice.

One of the most important skills that I think is valuable nowadays is to learn “computer skill” which means how to use computers and how to get necessary information from chaotic flood.

There are so many computers around us and we have already thought that we can’t do without computers. We regard computers as natural things like water or air. We get benefit from computers themselves and computer system such as railway system. When you go to the next city and get on the train, you use computers to buy tickets.

Of course we take advantage of the so-called personal computers. As you know, TOEFL test that the students or office workers should take to enter graduate school requires us to use computers. If we were not able to, we would not have any chance to challenge higher education.

The same is true of the business opportunity. The more information we can get and deal with, the more effectively we take a strategy to defeat competitors.

Well, sometimes information confuses and perplexes us because we can get information from all over the world at real time and the Net provides not only useful information but also useless information. As we get in touch with computers, we have more and more information as if we drowned in the information flood.

With computer literacy, we are able to choose the information that suits for specific purpose most. If we are required to produce new ideas, we gather up much information and decorate. This is allowed if we show readers the reference. In this way, we have to improve morals of dealing with information as well. Moreover this skill includes English skill because many passages are written by English and English natives and learner s can reach more information.

That is why I select the comprehensive computer skill as the most important skill.

What changes do you think we will see over the next 100 years?

I think that valuable thing will have changed in the next 100 years and what people are eager to want will be quite different.

As you know, natural resources, for example oil, coal and natural gas are limited and so we are getting them more and more difficultly. Government politics and scientific technology will enable us to take advantage of nuclear power and we will manage to emerge energy.

Well, the problem of natural resource is not over. More simple. It is the most necessary thing in the world for people to live longer that is regarded as the most common thing. That is ”water.” We, especially those living in the warm area, don’t think highly of it, however, it is challenging for those living in the dessert to get one cup of water. Have you mind it is not so serious that we should discuss this time because we have much around us? Definitely not. We suffer from the crazy climate such as flood in the city and we can’t deal with it. Moreover the water will be polluted. There will be much water, but we will be short of water that can be drunken. Maybe we have to buy not “mineral water” taken from the Alps but just water for paying 1 dollar.

The map of relationship showing which country is the most powerful will be different from that nowadays because some countries which have affluent nature as Canada does will be more powerful.

Also the food culture will alter because it will cost more than now to raise cattle or sheep which drink much water and we can hardly see meat on the plate in the dinner.

In this way, natural resources that can be reused or cannot be reused will be more and more valuable in the future and the time will come that we should save them more strictly and consume more effectively. 318words
