Hi, guys! How’s it going?? (日本語は下にあります)
It’s been almost a few months since I got back here. I’m on my summer break right now, so I’ve had a great time here so far. Of course, I miss you guys so much, and I really want to go back to the U.S.
In this blog, I’d like to wrap up my studying abroad with what is different inside me, before and after studying abroad. There are sooo many things I got from this awesome experience. So I just want to answer one question “Was my experience studying abroad a success?”
“Was my studying abroad journey successful?”
“Hell yeah”
First, I have a good understanding of myself, what I am, who I am. At the beginning of the journey abroad, I had to deal with loneliness. It was not like being homesick, I don’t like the part of myself that isn’t fluent in English. I had to deal with this problem to make this studying abroad session a success. I was suffering and thinking about this a lot to grow up myself. That was tough, honestly, but I realized that I needed that suffering to improve myself.
Second, I understand how I communicate with friends well, even if I don’t speak English fluently. You can use body language or rephrase what you are trying to say in an easier way. Then they could figure it out.
A tiny tip to improve your English
- Don’t be afraid of making mistakes when you speak English. They don’t really care about your grammar, so just SAY SOMETHING. They would try to help you speak English. If someone teases your English, just ignore them. If you practice speaking English many times, you will definitely become skilled at English.
Lastly, I made lots of friends all over the world. We made a lot of awesome memories that I will not forget. To my incredible international friends and my friends I met in Sac State (Steel Bridge member, Japan club member and classmates). THANK YOU SO MUCH.
