「終末時計」残り５分に　北・イランの核脅威で

　核戦争による地球最後の日までの残り時間を概念的に表示した「終末時計」を管理する米誌「ブレティン・オブ・ジ・アトミック・サイエンティスツ」は１７日、北朝鮮やイランの核問題など核を取り巻く国際環境の悪化を受け、現在の残り時間「７分」から、時計の針を２分進め、残りは「５分」となった。

　針が動いたのは、米国が弾道弾迎撃ミサイル（ＡＢＭ）制限条約からの脱退を２００１年に一方的に表明し、中枢同時テロを受け「核テロ」の危険性が指摘された０２年以来。

　同誌は先週、針を動かす理由について「重大な脅威に特徴づけられた第２次核時代の懸念が増大」と説明。具体的な「脅威」としては、北朝鮮やイランのほか（１）安全管理が不十分なロシアなどの核物質（２）瞬時の発射態勢にある米国とロシアの約２０００発の核兵器（３）テロの危険－などを挙げた。

　「終末時計」は、核戦争による地球破滅を午前０時と想定しており、日本の原爆被害に衝撃を受けた物理学者によって創刊された同誌が１９４７年から公表。針が最も進んだのは、米国とソ連の水爆実験成功を受けて残り２分となった５３年で、逆に「終末」から最も遠のいたのは冷戦が終わった９１年の１７分。

こんな風に、危機は他国のせいだと言って、自国のやるべきことをやらないと、時間は短くなるということですかね。
