タランティーノ作品は、ストーリーもさることながらディテイルが面白いことが特徴です。メインの
ストーリーに直接関係ないような（といっても伏線だったりもしますが）細かいところが笑えたり、
印象深かったりします。というわけで、私はビデオで持ってるのでタマに観返したりするわけです。
Pulp Fictionには３つの大きなストーリーが時系列に関係なく示され、最後になって相互の関連
がわかるという仕掛けになっています。
そのうちのひとつに、ギャングのボス、マルセロ（Marsellus Wallace）の部下ヴィンセント（VINCENT、
白人。ジョン・トラボルタ）とジュールス（JULES、黒人。サミュエル L.ジャクソン）が、ボスを裏切った
仕事の相手を殺しに行くというシーンがあります。
相手の住む場所に赴くふたり。アムステルダムから帰って来たばかりだというヴィンセントが、向こう
とアメリカの違いをジュールスに話しながら行きます。そして、相手が住むビルに到着、こんどは話題
がマルセロの新しく若い妻、ミアについてに変わります。
ジュールスが、マルセロの部下、アントワンがミアに足のマッサージを施したために４階の窓から
投げられて、半身不随にされたというと、「そいつはしょうがないな」、と答えるヴィンセント。足の
マッサージくらいでボスは過剰反応だと思わないか、と応酬するジュールス。
殺しに向かいながら、どちらが正しいかを議論するふたり。結果は、実際の映画のシナリオを読んで
みてください。映画ですから、かなり汚い表現になっております。（ふつうこういう話し方するぴとは、
あまりいません。ﾍｳﾞｨのダンナは言うらすぃですが…）
これを読んで意味がおわかりなら、英語の本は読めない方でもあちらで生きていくのはダイジョビでしょう。
