僕が生まれる前から父が弾いていたギターです。
先日リリースしたS blood「父へ」リマスターバージョンで弾いているギターです。
小さい時はこのギターの弦の上をミニカーを滑らせたりして遊んでいました。
たしか小学生の終わりぐらいから何となく楽器として触りはじめて、
父に教わったりしながらだんだん弾けるようになっていった気がします。
ちょうどその頃はロックに目覚めはじめた時だったので、
本当は音が歪んだエレキギターでロックが弾いてみたいんだけど、
このギターだとそういう音を出すのは無理だなあ、なんて思ったりしてたんですが、
大人になっていって色んなギターを弾くようになると、
このギターがいかにいい音なのかがすごくよくわかります。
クラシックギター特有の、ナイロン弦の温かくて優しい音。
父が晩酌のあと、気分がいいときによく洋画の映画音楽を弾いていたんですが、
この音を聞くと、その光景が頭の中で蘇ります。
1960年代製のギターなので、
今ではよりヴィンテージギターとして枯れたいい音がします。
このギターで「父へ」をレコーディングできて、本当によかったと思います。
父へ、この想いが届きますように。

My Father's guitar
My father played this guitar before I was born.
This is the guitar I play on the recently released remastered version of S blood "To My Father".
When I was little, I used to play with miniature cars sliding on the strings of this guitar.
I think it was around the end of my elementary school days that I started to play it as a musical instrument.
My father taught me how to play it, and I gradually became able to play it.
I was just starting to get into rock at that time.
I really wanted to play rock with a distorted sounding electric guitar.

The warm and gentle sound of nylon strings, characteristic of classical guitar.
My dad used to play Western movie music when he was in the mood after a nightcap.
When I hear this sound, the scene comes back to my mind.
The guitar was made in the 1960s.
Now it sounds more like a vintage guitar with a nice, dead sound.
I am very happy to have recorded "To My Father" with this guitar.
I hope my thoughts and feelings reach my father.
