数時間前、BBC朝の看板ニュース番組「ブレックファスト」で、本日のトップニュースのうちの一つとして
「キャメロン首相が英国の原子力産業と防衛産業を推進するために日本を訪問しました」と同首相が専用機のタラップから下りる映像を流しました。
A couple of hours ago, the newscaster of BREAKFAST on BBC One said,
"David Cameron has landed in Tokyo to promote British nuclear and defence industry to Japan as a part of his official visit to Asia.' or words to that effect.
それから1時間も経過しないうちに、この言い回しが
「キャメロン首相が日本との貿易を推進するために日本を訪問しました」という言い方に変更されました。
猫婆は、「外務省から苦情が入ったな」と思いました。
However, within an hour, the phrasing has been changed to
"David Cameron has landed in Tokyo to promote British industry deals" or words to that effect completely omitting the two biggest agenda of his visit: nuclear power generation and defence deals.
Therefore, I thought, "Ah ha! BBC has been threatened by Foreign Office."
だって、最初にto promote British nuclear industry and defence industryと言ったとき、
「Whoa, whoa, whoa, can we be THAT honest? (そこまで正直に言っていいのかよ～)」と多少驚いたからです。
As I was quite surprised to hear the very true purpose of Cameron's visit to Japan declared on BBC One for the following reasons:
日本にとって原子力産業は現在一番議論されている産業分野です。
For Japan, the nuclear power generation is the most debatable industry at the moment.
防衛産業は決して表面上で討論されない産業分野です。
The defence industry is the peculiar one that is dealt with behind the scene.
BBCは英公共放送として、偏りのない公正な報道をモットーとしております。私が資金を供出しております。
The BBC is a public service without bias and focused on just and fair broadcasting. I am funding it.
日本のNHKと違って、英国では白黒・カラーのテレビまたはテレビ番組を視聴することができるデバイスを所有し、テレビ放送電波を受信する者は、聴取料金（ライセンス・フィー）を支払わないと、罰金刑（千ポンドの実刑）が科されてしまうのです。
Unlike Japanese NHK, in the UK we must pay the annual TV Licence Fee to watch any BBC programmes on black and white television, colour television or any device that you can use to enjoy BBC's brilliant news/drama/comedy/art/documentary programmes otherwise you will have to pay the one thousand pounds fine.
各世帯はほとんどライセンス・フィーを支払っており、これはデータベースで明確にリストアップされていますので、支払い義務違反を調べるのは簡単です。
Of course, most of the households pay the annual licence fee and they are all listed up in the database so it's pretty easy to check who is cheating.

A special vehicle with specific equipment is quietly and unonymously drive around any building that is not listed in the above list.

This applies to the offices and business, too - every entity in a building must pay the licence fee if a TV programme can be watched by any device in the building.
ニュース報道は、裏事情を知っていないと、気づかないことが沢山あります。
Whenever you watch news programmes, you need to know the background in order to notice something.
