小鳥が越冬のため南へ向かって飛んでいました。
It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.
あまりにも寒くて、小鳥は凍り付いてしまい、広い野原の地面に落ちてしまいました。
While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.
小鳥が起き上がれずにいる間、牛さんがやってきて、上からフンを落としました。
As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.
牛さんのフンに埋もれた小鳥は、暖かくなってきたことに気づき始めました。
The dung was actually thawing him out!
温かいフンのおかげで凍てついた身体が解凍されていく！
He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
小鳥は暖まって嬉しくなって、喜びの歌を歌い始めました。
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.
小鳥の歌声が聞こえたために通りすがりの猫がやって来ました。
Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug hi out and ate him.
歌声をたどって、牛のフンの下にいた小鳥を見つけた猫は、小鳥を掘り出して食べてしまいました。
Morals of the story:
教訓：
1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
上からフンをするヤツが敵とは限らない。
2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
フン（泥沼）から救い出してくれるヤツが味方とは限らない。
3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut!
フン（泥沼）のどん底に落ち込んだ時は、黙っているに限る！
Thus ends the management course.
