Geese are famous as migratory birds.
渡り鳥で有名なグース
There are so many geese in Ohio.
We see them everyday near by ponds and on lawns.
オハイオにはグースがたくさんいます
毎日池の傍か芝生にいるグースたちを見かけます。
When I was a child,I watched the movie "Fly away home".
So I knew this bird,and I liked its movie so I have a good feeling for them.
私は小さい時に「グース」という映画を
観たことがあり、この鳥は昔から知っていました。
その映画は印象深かったので、
グースに対する良いイメージも持ってました
They were big more than I expected.
実際にオハイオに来て初めてグースを見ましたが、
想像以上に大きい鳥です
After watching geese for a year,
I was known something.Because almost everyday I met them.
365日グースを見ない日は無いと言っても
過言では無いくらいよく見かけるので、
彼らの1年の生活をなんとなく知りました
They live in groups during the summer and winter.
I heard about groups,it's a family.
彼らは夏頃から冬にかけて、群れで過ごします。
どうもその群れは家族らしいです
And they migrate while a severe winter.
But last year,it was not long time.
I felt its period was only one to two month.
そして去年は真冬
に渡ってゆきました。
でも長い期間ではなく、
1月終わりか2月初旬頃に渡ってゆき、
3月の前半頃には帰ってきてたような
And in late winter they live as couples.
It's very noticeable.
そして冬の終わりは、
群れではなく夫婦で過ごします。
分かりやすく夫婦で過ごしてるので、
微笑ましいです
On the contrary, I feel anxious when I watch an alone goose .
逆に1羽だけのグースを見ると
この子は大丈夫なのかと不安になります
笑
Also, this winter it feels like they haven't migrated, even though they are migratory birds.
I thought they migrated,but few days later,
I saw them again.
今冬は、渡っていないグースたちがいた気がします
3日ほどグースを見かけなかったので
渡ったと思いきや、
4日目くらいにまた見かけたので
We will be able to meet baby geese in an end of April to June.
Geese parents always walk babies in a line.
Babies always walk between a mom and a dad.
4月の後半から6月末,7月初旬にかけて、
グースの雛たちが産まれます
グースは必ずママとパパが
子供たちの先頭と最後尾について、
1列になって歩きます
I feel a love of parents.
愛情深い鳥だなぁと見てて思います
The parent geese are always on guard their surroundings and humans for protecting their babies.
So we should not get close to them.
Because it is a love.
産卵期から雛達が育つまで、
グースの両親は常に周りや
人間を警戒して歩くので、
私達は近寄らないように気をつけてあげないといけません。
子を守ろうとするのは親の本能だからね
In this year,my eldest asked me something.
"Who will have a baby first, Mama or Goose? It's a race from today!"
今年、長男は面白いことを言いました。
「ママとグースはどっちが先に赤ちゃん産まれるかな
今日から競走ね
！」
After we came here,
we have learned many things from nature and animals.
オハイオに来てから、
私たち家族は自然や動物からの学びが多いです
