Hello
Thank you for your coming to my blog

Today is a Setsubun which is called as “bean-throwing festival” in English.
Setsubun is the day before the begging of spring in Japan originally and in the day Japanese pray for a good new year from old days.🙏✨
Then, the reason why Setsubun called as “Bean throwing festival” in English is,
we cleanse away all the evil of the former year by throwing beans to outside and also we pray to bring in good fortune by throwing beans to inside.

This is one of the famous custom in Japan and you can see roasted beans in supermarket very easily in this season in Japan 🇯🇵
Another custom of Setsubun is to eat “Ehomaki( rolled Sushi)” in the day.
This custom means that we pray to be a good for a next year to eat “Ehomaki” turning to favorable direction.
Today, my mother cooked original Ehomaki for the festival such like below

All of them except the cucumbers are stewed in sweet sauce of soy sauce and sugar and mirin.
It was so good
Since I like cooking, I rolled my Ehomaki by myself after my working today
