I finally finished writing an essay for applying for the internship position yesterday. The theme was given, so I had to write a narrative essay based on the topic. I hit writer’s block, so it took for a while to start writing. Once I began, I was able to keep writing relatively smoothly. The essay had to be only one to two pages, but I went over the limit. During the revision process, I trimmed my essay down and I asked myself: Is the writing clear? Is there enough information to describe ideas? Etc.

Now that I’m done with the essay, I’m ready to apply for the internship. I’m currently working for a Japanese company. I’ve been working there for over eight years now, but I’m thinking about trying something else. It would be nice if I could work for a place which will provide me better pay, working hours, and benefit. I would like to try applying for American institutions this time although it will be extremely challenging for me.

I really appreciate the fact that there are so many YouTube channels, which explains how to apply for jobs successfully. There are specific videos teaching the viewers, from how to write a job application letter to how to prepare for job interviews.

I especially feel thankful for some Japanese YouTubers who discuss how to apply jobs overseas. Their advice is very helpful, but what I really like about their videos is that, they are all so inspiring. I can tell that those Japanese YouTubers are all making a sincere effort to pursue their dreams in foreign countries. They even share their failures without hesitation, and I’m very impressed by that. They prove that, failure is our teacher, not our undertaker.
