恐ろしくて今までできなかったのだけど、勇気を出して（笑）北京にちょっとした荷物を（日本から）送ってみた。
I managed to convince myself to ship some stuff to China (from Japan) on Monday.
郵便局にいろいろと合わせをし、中国に送ってはいけないものリストをみると、びびってしまう。
きちんとした記憶ではないけど、去年、一時帰国が長過ぎて荷物が増え、中国にEMSでものを送ってしまおうと思った時、中国に送ってはいけないものリストを郵便局のお兄さんに見せられて怖じ気づいてしまった。
『げ～、古着（つまり着ていた洋服）もだめなのー？』って驚いたのを覚えている。
if you have a look at the things that you are not allowed to ship to china on the list...you'd be quite daunted. in last summer while my long stay in tokyo...I ended up piling up all junks, I was tempted to ship the excess to China by EMS (Japanese Post Office presents the service), but i was daunted when I looked at the list telling me so many items are banned to ship to china.
今回は、もう、相手が中国であることなんてあまり考えずに、イギリスに送っていた時のように、てきとーーーーに送ってみた。
食べもの、ちょっとした衣類、化粧品、原産国が日本以外のもの、適当に箱につめて、ラベルに内容を記載する時にも、dried food, personal belongings, cosmetics などとかなり適当。
このラベル記入以外にも、インボイスっていうのを書くように言われた。まあラベルに書いた内容を繰り返し書くといった記入内容だったけど。
this time...I managed to be a bit more cheeky. sod off if it's china or not..I just sent a box as I did it to a normal country, such as the UK.
in the label I just very roughly itemized my stuff, e.g. dried food, personal belongings, cosmetics, etc. how simple was that??
beside the label I was told to fill in another form, "Invoice". but there was nothing too complicated. just copied down what i already wrote in the label. you know what bureaucracy is like!

オリンピック前でいろいろ嫌な噂を聞く今日この頃ですが、月曜日に送り、もう水曜日には荷物は北京の受取主に受け取られていた。こんなにstraightforwardだったのね～。
I have been overhearing all sorts of worrying stories re. china's strong control over the Beijing Olympic games however the parcel was shipped on Monday and arrived in Beijing on Wednesday without any hassle so far. phew. it was as straightforward as it should be!

オリンピックの開催日前日の2008年８月7日に成田空港内の郵便局からEMSにて荷物を北京に送りました。北京で受け取ったのが８月9日ですから、２日で到着したことになります。セキュリティーがうるさいとわれている北京ですが、箱を開けられた形跡もありません（ロンドンでテロがあった前後は小包が開封されることなど日常茶飯事でした）。
