houhai making over - 后海メイクオーバー
a work related friend of us from london had a brief business trip here in beijing. he had some spare time on saturday afternoon so we took him to houhai, one of the most pretty part of the city.
ロンドンから出張で北京に来ていた友達が、漸く土曜日に自由時間ができたというので、后海の方へ行ってきました～。
this is always the way....the area was in the middle of huge make-over project for the summer when the city hosts the olympic games.
何の因果か、大規模な工事がありとあらゆるところで行われていて、あまりシーニックなところとは言えない状態でした。これもオリンピックに向けての準備。ということで、后海沿いに何百と置かれていたはずのオープンエアテーブルもシートの向こう（笑）
those open air tables along the lake(?) were not available.
people were busy even on saturday. this gentleman was busy manually working in a jacket! can you see he was holding a shovel to dig the ground.
なんで中国の工人ってこういう『お父さんのお出かけ用』みたいなジャケットにスラックスを履いてたりするんじゃろか？お出かけジャケットきてシャベルで穴掘ってるんだよね～。
