わたくし、いつも思うのですが、西洋人の間での『誰もが知ってる有名店（良い意味でも悪い意味でも）』、『誰もが１度は足を運ぶ事になる店』って、日本人の間のそれらと結構違う。それがなんだか面白い。
I always find it very interesting that a popular or well known bar/restaurant among westerners and the one among japanese often don't match.
今夜は、Qbarで友達と落ち合った後に、FACE BEIJINGで食事をした。
タイ料理セクションとインド料理セクション（とバーに）別れていて、好きな方を選べる。今宵はタイ料理を選んだ。うーん、いいねえ。ウェイターさん達も英語で注文をとってくれるし、料理がでてくるのも早い。料理は、まあまあっていったところかな。だって本場、タイで食べたタイ料理と比べたら可哀想でしょ？食べ物の味で選ぶ店じゃないけど、広いし、インテリアもいかにもの感じ。友達と連れ立って出かけるにはええ感じよ。
私は、今夜はグラスヌードルとシーフードのサラダとトムヤムクンという私の中での定番タイ料理に落ち着いた。

we had a night out tonight with western favor.
so started with a Mojito at Qbar, then moved to FACE beijing.
FACE has three sections - a space you can enjoy Thai food, a space for Indian cuisine, then a bar (where you cannot whisper). we decided to go for Thai. most of waiters and waitresses understood us (English or bad chinese). dishes we ordered were served fairly promptly. the taste and quality of food were in so so range but I had to tell myself that it was not fair if I compared the food with Thai food I had had in Thailand.
I don't think FACE is not an eating place I pick for food but maybe it'd be a great place to go to with friends (or a date if you like).
I had grass noodle salad and tom yam kum...both are my old favourite.

その後１Fのラウンジでカクテル飲んだ。
いやー、うら若きチュウゴクの若者達と、西洋人でかなり混んでいて、それも良い。ペキンってなんだかがらんどうみたいなお店多いじゃない？ロンドンのこげなクラブがあったなーとリージェントストリートをちょいと入ったところにあった、クラブを思い出せる。
after coffee we went down stairs and had a nice chat and a drink at the bar.
very crowded with many chinese young stars (some were busy to take pics of themselves!) and westerners. the bar reminded me of a club just by regent street in london.
一度は行ってみるといいっていうところかもな。
本当に美味しいものを食べたいときに行きたいかどうかは別として。
予算は地味に食べて少しお酒もいただいて一人３５０元くらい（ラウンジは別でね）。
I think face is one of those places I might as well going while I'm in beijing.
I don't think face is the place I rush to seeking for authentic thai food.
the budget to eat there is about 350 rmb per a head (excluding drinks at the bar).
昔は学校だった建物を改造してできた店らしい。
ジャカルタ、バンコク、上海にもお店があるらしい。
there are a few FACE around in Asia. one in Shanghai, one in Jakarta and one in Bangkok.
