北京空港をでて早くも２分でディーブなチュウゴクを味わえます。
here in china you can get into "deep china" two minutes after you passed through the passport control.
いやー、３週間もこてこてのアメリカの中部にいると我が家が恋しくなる訳で、北京についたときは、あーよかったーここに帰って来てーって思ってしまったわ。これって問題？
でさー、荷物をピックアップし、さてタクシーにのってお家に帰ろう。旅の最後の３０分のラストスパートと思い、タクシー乗り場へ。
where we live always the best place to be is our own home, right?
i felt the same when i finally arrived at beijing airport after 12 hours flight from chicago. another 30 minutes taxi ride, then i'll be home, sweet home!!!
I thought. joined the queue for one.
行列もできてなかったし、ラッキー。寒空の下、並ばなくてもすむし。で、あっという間に我々の番がまわってきた。タクシーは２車線でやってきて、我々が待っている右側の逆方向に停車場みたいのがあってとまったりするんよ。で、交通整理のおにいちゃんみたいのがわんさといて、我々に、あのタクシーのところへいけーって指図するわけ。なので我々お客は、２車線、びゅーびゅータクシーが通るところを横切らなくちゃ行けない。タクシーの乗り込み場所が数カ所あって、自分たちのいる乗り込み場所よりもさらに先にある乗り込み場所めがけてタクシーがびゅーびゅーしてるからね。
in a nutshell...the area where people form the airport take cabs is messy.
I often go to the airport to take a plane, to pick a friend up, to see a friend off, etc. but never figure out how i should deal with the chinese-taxi ridding-procedure.
there are three or four queues for passengers. there are two lanes for taxis. there are quite a few lolli-pop ladies like figures around.
I never understand how all above work together.
anyway lolli-pop men directed us to go to a particular one that stopped the other side of the troad. so we have to across the two lane road where many taxies kept coming in high speed.
で、指図されたタクシーのところにいったら、隣でタクシーのうんちゃんと、乗り込もうしてる乗客達がすごい勢いでどなりあってる。交通整理のお兄ちゃん達も数名仲裁に入ろうとしているのか周りいるけどなんの埒もあいてない。しかし、チュウゴク人の若いお姉ちゃんをみてて、頼もしいなあって思った。何ふり構わず、人前であんなに切れることができるなんて。
we were powerless. we went over to a taxi just stopped on the other side of the road and witnessed an aggressive argument next to us. passengers who tried to get into their cab and the cab driver were arguing hard, the lolli-pop men were joining in. everybody was shouting! I was very impressed with a chinese young lady who absolutely went mad in public! I'm not brave enough to go mad like that.
でもこれも他人事じゃなかった。私達の乗り込もうとしたタクシーの運ちゃんもすごい形相で、機内持ち込み用のスーツケースを後部座席においたら、そこにおくな、トランクにいれろと、ものすごい剣幕。
なんで？
例えば、今日は機嫌が悪いのよとか、アメリカ人／日本人は敵だーって思ってるとか、
なんか理由あんのかな？
it was not just someone else's business.
our turn was around. the possible our cab driver was not happy with us for some reason. he got at me when i placed a little bag on the back seat and (supposedly) saying "put the blxxdy bag in the car boot". however my boyfriend was struggling to put the other suitcases into it. there wasn't enough space there...he kept his belongings in it.
"why does he has to be so angry?" I wondered. does he hate American or Jaanese? or any legitimate reason for his attitude????
どうせならあって欲しい、理由。wished there was.
がしかし、トランクは彼の持ち物がごちゃごは入っていて、そこに連れがキューギューどでかいスーツケースを二つ押し込もうと悪戦苦闘している。タクシーの運ちゃんの怒りの剣幕はすごい。
我々をこのタクシーにふった交通整理のお兄ちゃんにどーすりゃいいのよっていっても、はっきりいって完全に役立たず。
みんなで意味も亡くわいのわいのしてるだけ。そしてとなりでもわいのわいのしてる。
we tried to figure out what he wanted us to do...he went on and on in chinese. next to us..the bunch of people were still shouting at each other....
あー、チュウゴクだ。チュウゴクに帰って来たのだ。空港の建物をでて約２分後に満喫できるこの味わい♪
"I'm home. I'm back to China" I thought. two minutes after the pass port control..I was in deep china.
次にやってきたタクシーの運ちゃんはまるで同じ人種とは思えないほど、大柄じゃないヒト。
そそくさと運転席からおりてきてトランクに荷物を入れるのを手伝ってくれようとするからびっくりしちゃった。
入りきれなかった大きなトランクをむぎゅっと助手席にいれてくれて、しかも寡黙に。
we took all stuff out of the car boot and sent him off gracefully (I doubt!!!).
the next cab driver we got was very very reserved man who never was abrupt.
he got out of the car and helped us to put stuff into the car boot without shouting.
嗚呼、寡黙って美しい so quietly...。
アメリカでもさかんにメディアで話題になっていた中国だけど（どれだけ着々とオリンピックの準備が進んでいるか）、そして３週間ぶりに帰って来てみるとおどろくほどいろんなものが完成している。北京市内と空港を結ぶ地下鉄も試運転してたし、新しい空港もだいぶ仕上がってた。でも、これでトランクをたくさんもって外国人がオリンピック時にやってきたとき、この交通整理のお兄ちゃんお姉ちゃん達、そしてタクシーの運ちゃん達は、笑顔で対処できるんやろか？
while we were in the us we enough came across with tv news, news papaer articles about china that was getting ready for the olympics. i was actually amazed to land here again after three months absence because their progression were obvious everywhere...the new international airport, the motor way, railways, etc, etc. however...what would happen if millions of foreigners have to deal with the taxi point mess.
i guess the taxi drivers didn't like passengers with big suitcases but they picked up people at an international airport!
おー、それから、噂になっていた24時間以内に警察に届け出の件だけど、空港に大きく表示されてた。ホテルに泊まらない外国人（「エイリアンは」と書いてあった）は北京についてから２４時間以内にお近くの警察に届け出なければいけないらしい。ほかの国では考えられないよね～？
now then a big notice board said in the airport...all foreign visitors who aren't stay at hotels have to report to a police station within 24 hours in Beijing 72 hours in the other rural areas.
