my original hutong tour in beijing
on "may day (which is a public holiday in china)" we visited hutong area in where we heard there were a few lakes. we were simply tourists! actually it was the first time for us to get out of house for sight seeing!
the weather was nice...hotter than english summer. we took number 1 and number 2 line on the tube (cost 3 yuan for a single. 1 us dollars is about 7.8 yuan) to get to the station called "gulou dajie" and walked to the lake area.

良く晴れたメーデー（中国ではメーデーは祭日です）、胡同エリアにある湖の方に行ってみようということになり、早速でかけてみました。すっかり観光者気分。考えてみれば観光のようなものをするのもこれが初めてだったかも。気候はというと、イギリスの真夏よりも、、、あっ暑い。地下鉄１号線と２号線を乗り継いでいってみましたが、運賃、片道一人３元也（１アメリカドルがだいたい７．８元）。鼓楼大街という駅で下車して、徒歩にてかの湖エリアへ行く途中にとった写真です。
ひと味違う世界をお楽しみください。
お天気だったので、布団を干している家がたくさんありました。
as the weather was nice many people were airing their beddings.
お天気のよい祭日だというのに、人びとは忙しそうに走り回っています。止まらない都市、北京？
does a national holiday ever effect people here?? - a restless world!
だけど、この子にはめまぐるしい世の中なんて他人事。
however a kid didn't seem to care about the world going by... a carelessly sleeping kid in peace in a carrier
こんな街角に中国の良さがあると思うんだけど、、、。
i love finding a beauty of china in such a little corner...
民家の外門。外門があって、中に家屋が見え隠れします。構造的には地中海地方のパティオのある家屋を思い出させてくれたりします。中はとっても涼しそう。
a house gate. you can see the premises inside through the gate. those house construction reminded me of houses in the mediterranean area that had patios.
入ってみたいけどなかなか勇気のでない小さな食堂はいたるところに、、、。
南国のフルーツの王様、ドリアンも比較的どこにいってもみつかります。中国でいただくスイカは真冬でもおいしいし。
very curious eating places are everywhere but i'm not brave enough... the king of fruits, durians are relatively easy to find at many shops here.
